GreenPalm raises first $1M for sustainable palm oil producers
GreenPalm, the certificate trading programme which is designed to promote sustainable palm oil production by enabling producers to earn more by producing sustainably, has reached an important milestone.
Just 10 months after trading in GreenPalm certificates began, palm oil producers who are members of the programme and who have met the RSPO’s rigorous guidelines for social and environmental sustainability, have earned an additional $1M for their efforts by selling GreenPalm Certificates.
The purchasers of those certificates are currently working on the claims they intend to make about their businesses’ support of GreenPalm and sustainable palm oil production. You can check out who has redeemed GreenPalm certificates by visiting the ‘Redeemed Cert Owners’ page via the following link.

This is an important achievement for GreenPalm, since our programme is based on the idea that the best way to encourage people to do things differently is to reward them for doing so. Sustainable palm oil producers have now earned $1M of additional revenue thanks to the GreenPalm programme. We believe that this will provide strong encouragement for them to continue to produce sustainably and for others to follow suit.
Moreover, for each certificate sold a $1 donation has been made to support the vital work of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil.
It’s great therefore to able to report such a positive step forward. Thanks to you all for your interest and support, and congratulations to our successful certified palm oil producers.
Yours sincerely
